The first step to take to get your Glo SIM activated is to register the SIM. You can easily walk into any Glo office or outlet close to you and get the SIM registered.

To register your Glo SIM, you would need to provide some information and documents such as National Identity Number (NIN) or any other legal form of identification. Once all the information is provided and submitted, it will take a few minutes before your Glo SIM is activated.

Requirements to Register and Activate New Glo SIM

Few years ago, Glo customers can register their Glo SIM using either their International Passport, National Identification Number, Voter’s Card or Drivers License but currently the federal government has made it compulsory for all telecommunication company in Nigeria to register SIM using only the National Identification Number (NIN). This is mandatory and without your NIN you won’t be able to register your SIM.

For all new Glo SIM that have been registered, the Glo activation code is 125. It’s important to register your SIM before dialing this code (125), otherwise it won’t be activated

Recharge your new SIM with at least N100 airtime

Difference Between Activating a New Glo SIM and Activating a Deactivated Glo SIM

To activate a new Glo SIM has a different from activating a deactivated Glo SIM. A lot of people don’t know the difference but there’s a difference. The truth is, activating a new Glo SIM is easier when compared to activating a deactivated Glo SIM.

To reactivate a deactivated Glo SIM, you would need to go provide some important details that would be verified before the SIM can be activated again. Here are the steps you need to take to reactivate your deactivated Glo SIM

Walk into any Glo office or outlet and let the officials know that you want to reaction your Glo SIM. Here are the list of items you need to go with;

  • National identification Number
  • Permanent Voters Card
  • Provide five numbers that are stored in your contact list which you frequently call
  • Provide SIM pack, it serves as proof of ownership but if it’s no longer available, you will need to get an affidavit from court to confirm the legal ownership of the SIM

You will need to recharge the SIM with at least N100 once it’s activated
